The Sufi Path of Illumination: Exploring the Luminous Nature of Reality and Ourselves

Public Event

Sunday, February 28, 2016 - Sunday, February 28, 2016

The soul is light, the mind is light, and the body is light—light of different grades.” —Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan

Led by Pir Zia Inayat-Khan

As humans we live and move and have our being within the mingled rays of the Sun and the billions of stars that fill the sky. Our bodies are of stardust and our souls are of immaterial light. In this afternoon gathering, we will explore the luminous nature of reality and ourselves, drawing upon the metaphysics of the Ishraqi school of Sufi philosophy and the meditative disciplines of Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan. Using breath and visualization we’ll  develop an attunement to light, an understanding of the relationship between the aura and the physical body and learn ways to bring forth the inner light of our souls.
